How I finalized my full magazine

Image
Finalizing my magazine was such a mess at first, like I had no idea what to fix or how to make it better, but after reading the comments left for me, it all started making more sense. The biggest issue was the table of contents—it was just bad. I didn’t like it at all, so I scrapped the whole thing and started over from scratch. I went online to look at examples, and after scrolling through a bunch of them, I finally found one that was super sleek and elegant but still had enough space for all my pictures and headings. It took me a while to figure out how to make it work, but after playing around with it, I finally got everything to fit the way I wanted. I had to fit around ten different headings along with images, which at first felt impossible, but with the new template, it actually worked out really well, and it looked so much better than before. For the cover, I had to rework the descriptions because they were too vague and didn’t really tell the reader what the articles were about...

Focusing on my Creative Critical Reflection on Prezi

Image
As I make my critical reflection, I try to focus on writing a lot of information and making the paragraphs lengthy but informative. I also try including 1 or 2 pictures per section. I've already set up what I want to write and I've completed the design of it. All I'm missing is the actual writing which is the hardest part. For the first question it says  How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?, What i had in mind for saying was that t he magazine discusses the impact of humans on animals, highlighting the pros and cons of their interactions. It encourages readers to volunteer at animal shelters, health care centers, adopt, and help animals whenever possible. The magazine targets younger readers, as they can have the biggest impact. It addresses issues like mistreatment, starvation, and neglect of animals, emphasizing the need for attention. The magazine also provides a relatable story from a normal family to ins...

Still thinking of a rough draft for my Critical Reflection

Image
As I look at past critical reflections, I came across one made on Prezi that really inspired me in how I want to create mine. I watched the video of the presentation and saw elements that I really liked, especially how the video zoomed into the bubble with the question and then zoomed in further to deeper bullet points discussing one of the three answers to the question. This dynamic and engaging style made the presentation more interesting, and I want to incorporate something similar into my own reflection. For my third question: How did your production skills develop throughout this project? I’m still unsure of exactly how I’ll structure my reflection, but by using Prezi, I hope to learn and develop the necessary skills to make it visually appealing and effective. Throughout the process of creating my magazine, I used various tools, including social media, online research, video, a camera, and pictures from friends, all of which contributed to shaping my project. These differen...

Making the outline for my critical reflection

Image
For my critical reflection, I’ve been thinking about how to answer the four required questions for my assignment. These questions are based on my magazine, which I have been finalizing and completing. However, since I don’t have an actual product to sell or display, I decided to approach the questions as if I did. For the first question: How does your product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues? My magazine focuses on animal adoption and challenges how certain social groups are perceived. While many organizations appear to be helpful from the outside, the reality is that dogs are often left in shelters with little chance of adoption. This is a major issue, but despite these negative aspects, there are many good people actively working to help animals. Volunteers, fosters, and nonprofit organizations play a significant role in making a difference, ensuring that abandoned animals have a second chance. For the second question: How does you...

Learning everything about editing through the videos shown in class

Image
While watching the two videos, I started noticing how editing plays a huge role in storytelling. At first, I didn’t really think much about how things were put together, but after analyzing them, I realized how every little choice impacts how a scene feels. In the Katniss Everdeen scene, when she saves her sister, there’s a lot of quick cuts and close-ups that really highlight the emotion. The shot-reverse shot and eyeline matching stood out to me because they made everything feel more intense. The cutting was also important because it controlled the pacing, making the moment feel urgent. I also noticed different types of cuts, like jump cuts that added energy, match cuts that smoothly transitioned between actions, and cross-cutting that built suspense by switching between different moments. These choices made the scene feel more dramatic and heightened the emotional stakes. Then with The Princess Bride scene, the mise-en-scène really stood out to me. The colors, costumes, and framing...
