How I constructed my table of contents

Image
To make my table of contents, I looked at a few magazines to get ideas. I decided to make a list that had 10 teasers of the stories inside the magazine. I made the titles and description the same color as some letters on my cover to make it match and have a good form of sleek design and added numbers next to the articles so people could find stuff fast. I also added images with some numbers on them so people knew what story the pictures related to. After finishing the table of contents, I worked on revising double-page spread. I tried to balance the pictures and text with the colors and fonts, so it didn’t look too empty or too crowded. I played around with the font size to make the text easier to read and made sure the images were placed where they looked good but also made sense with the article. I wanted the page to look neat and interesting, so I kept adjusting things until it felt right.I also improvised on my magazine cover. I changed some of my title names and descriptions so th...

Revising my teachers feedback

Image
After reading my teacher’s feedback on my magazine cover and double-page spread, I realized there were a few things I needed to fix in order to improve my work. The feedback wasn’t just helpful for this project—it also gave me valuable lessons that will help me in future creative projects. The changes will help me make better choices in the future and avoid mistakes. I’m excited to apply this feedback to make my magazine the best it can be. One of the main points my teacher mentioned was about the cover design. He pointed out that the pictures I chose didn’t really stand out and that there was too much white space. This meant the cover looked a bit empty and didn't grab attention the way it should. I now realize I need to add more interesting designs and visuals to make the cover pop. This will help attract readers right from the start. For my double-page spread, my teacher suggested I revise the subheadings to make them more descriptive of the content in the stories. He recommend...

Working on my rough draft

Image
This week we are making the table of contents and I was thinking about how to make my table of contents for my magazine and got some ideas.  While I’m thinking of the stories I want in my magazine, I also thought about how to make the page look. For the assignment, I need 10 story teasers and 4 or more images. I’m thinking I could use some pictures from my cover and the story teasers that I already put on it. Plus I could hint at my already made stories in my double page spread since it technically comes later in the magazine. I’ve been looking at different templates on Canva to figure out how to fit all 10 story teasers and the images in a way that looks good. I want to make sure everything looks clear and interesting and following the same style of design I made. Some of the things I’m thinking about making stories on are stuff like the good and bad sides of zoos, adoption centers, vets, and other stuff. These ideas could be cool and get people to think more about those topics pl...
