Making the outline for my critical reflection
For my critical reflection, I’ve been thinking about how to answer the four required questions for my assignment. These questions are based on my magazine, which I have been finalizing and completing. However, since I don’t have an actual product to sell or display, I decided to approach the questions as if I did.
For the first question: How does your product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues? My magazine focuses on animal adoption and challenges how certain social groups are perceived. While many organizations appear to be helpful from the outside, the reality is that dogs are often left in shelters with little chance of adoption. This is a major issue, but despite these negative aspects, there are many good people actively working to help animals. Volunteers, fosters, and nonprofit organizations play a significant role in making a difference, ensuring that abandoned animals have a second chance.
For the second question: How does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text? My magazine connects with readers on an emotional level because many people worldwide can relate to the experience of adopting a dog and saving its life. Those who have been through this process can resonate with the stories and interviews, creating a sense of shared understanding. If distributed as a real media text, it would reach animal lovers through online platforms, pet adoption centers, and nonprofit organizations.
